INTERPRETATION OF VARIOUS TYPE OF BILL

1) BILL OF LADING

  BILL OF LADING is a document issued by a carrier to a shipper, acknowledging that specified goods have been received on board as cargo for conveyance to a named place for delivery to the consignee who is usually identified.

2) HOUSE B/L

    This bill is issued by freight agents when the goods are transported from midland to midland. The international freight agents always use this bill. Sometimes the freight agents use this bill to meet the customers’ANTI DATED B/L or the other needs which the shipper owner can supply.

3) MASTER B/L

    Is issued by shipper owner.

4) SHIPPED OR BOARD B/L

    This bill is that carrier issued to shipper when the goods is already on board.

5) RECEIVED FOR SHIPPING B/L

    This bill is issued when the carrier already accept the goods but not making shipment

6) DIRECT B/L

    This bill is issued when the goods loaded on ship in port is directly transported to the other port to unload without change ship.

8) THROUGH B/L

    This bill is issued by carrier to transport the goods by charge ship.

9) MT B/L

    Multi-modal bill of lading is issued when the goods transport by tow or multi-modal like ocean, river, railway, road, air etc..

10) LINER B/L

    Liner is the ship which continuously transport between the specific two ports following the timetable in the same route. The liner can be classed in two type: regular route in regular time or regular route in irregular time.

11 CHARTER PARTY B/L

    This bill is issued by shipowner to charter when he chart the ship to transport all goods. Or the bill is issued by shipowner or charter when the chart not transport all goods.

12) STRAIGHT B/L

    This bill states that the goods are consigned to a specified person and it is not negotiable free from existing equities

13) ORDER B/L

    CONSIGNEE**COMPANY; ORDER OF **BANK. This bill uses express words to make the bill negotiable

14) BLANK B/L 或 OPEN B/L

    The bill is without any shipper or order, and anyone can get the goods by this bill.

15) CLEAN B/L

    The goods delivered have good surface situation, when the carried issued the bill, he didn't add the note about damage or insufficient packing.

16) FOUL B/L

    Delivering the goods, when the pack or surface with incomplete situation, the ship owner can note the bill as Foul B/L

17) PARCEL RECEIPT 或 NON-NEGOTIABLE RECEIPT

    For small amount of cargos, baggages, samples and so on.

18) MINIMUM B/L

    When the freight don't reach the minimum price, the freight should be payed in minimum price.

19) OMNIBUS B/L 或 COMBINED B/L

    Omnibus B/L is that different batch goods is issued the same bill.

    Combined B/L is that same liquid with different batch in the same oil tank is issued different bill.

20) SEPARATE B/L

    The one batch goods is issued 2 or more 2 bills meeting the shipper needs.

21) STALE B/L

    The time of bill send to bank is more than to the departing time, so that the bill can be send to shipper when the ship arrive the port, and bank don’t accept this bill.

22) SWITCH B/L

    The bill is issued by departing port, and switch to another bills, as the sign of goods transport by transfer station.

23) ANTI-DATED B/L

    This bill is issued by carrier befog the time of good loading on board.

24) ADVANCED B/L

    By the reason of L/C, the good can be loaded in time, but already in the handle of carrier, and the shipper ask the carrier to issued the bill as guarantee

25) ON DECK B/L

   The bill is with the letter “on the deck”, when the goods is loaded on the deck.
